The provider most likely to succeed
Highest success rate for the task type, computed from real solves on rolling 48-hour and 30-day windows.
How it works
Reliable mode picks the provider whose recent attempts are most likely to succeed. Two rolling windows, 48 hours and 30 days, read from the same routing_stats table that powers Auto Fastest. Every attempt counts: when auto retry or fallback runs, each try is scored against the provider that ran it, so a failure is never masked by a later rescue. A provider needs at least 10 recent attempts for the engine to trust it.
Ranking uses the lower bound of the success rate, so a provider needs a consistent record — not a lucky handful of solves — to win. Scores are combined per user, weighting each account by the square root of its volume, so one broken setup sending huge volume can’t drag a provider down for everyone. If neither window meets the threshold, the engine ranks by price instead, the same as Auto Cheapest.

What counts as a failure
- Provider 5xx responses
- Malformed solutions that fail downstream verification
- Tasks that exceed the configured timeout
- Provider rate-limits that exhaust the retry budget
When to use it
High-value workflows. Payment flows. Account-creation gates. Anywhere a failed solve costs more than a few cents in user friction or rework.
